Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced React Native (Expo) and Supabase developer to help finish the remaining backend integration for our hybrid social networking app, Roomigo.
The app helps young professionals find roommates based on lifestyle compatibility and network with other professionals based on career synergy.
State of the Project:
The foundation of the app is incredibly solid. The premium UI is fully built out in React Native / Expo. The Supabase database schema (including tables for Users, Posts, Groups, Messages, and Storage buckets) is already designed and deployed. The matching algorithms (TypeScript math logic) are also already written.
Currently, the app relies heavily on `MOCK_DATA`.
Your primary job will be to replace this mock data with live Supabase queries and connect the final interactive features.
Key Responsibilities (The Scope of Work):
1.
Implement Real-Time Messaging:
Connect the existing Chat Inbox and Direct Messaging UI to Supabase Realtime WebSockets. Users need to be able to send and receive messages live, with history stored in the DB.
2.
Supabase Media Storage (Video & Photo Uploads):
Connect our "Create Post" screen (which uses `expo-image-picker`) to compress and upload videos/photos to our Supabase Storage `media` bucket.
Then, wire the existing vertical Vlog Feed to fetch and display this live content instead of static mock data.3.
Wire Live Algorithms & Swipe Deck:
The mathematical algorithms for our "Synergy" and "Cohabit" compatibility scores are complete.
You need to write the Supabase queries to fetch real users, run them through the existing math functions, and feed them into our existing Swipe Deck UI.
You will also need to handle the database inserts when a user swipes "Vibe" (Right) or "Pass" (Left).4.
Minor Polish & Fixes:
- Resolve a minor `expoimagepicker` TypeScript compiler warning.
- Setup dynamic filtering for the Vlog Feed based on which "Groups" a user has joined.
- Integrate Expo Push Notifications for new matches and messages.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in
React Native and
Expo (EAS Build experience is a plus). - Strong proficiency in
TypeScript. - Deep experience with
Supabase, specifically its Postgres database, Realtime WebSockets, and Cloud Storage. - Familiarity with React Navigation.
- Clean, readable code practices.
