We are looking for a Lead Tax Specialist to join our US Income Tax team for the insurance business unit of GE Aerospace. You will assist with the income tax provisions, tax compliance, and other tax matters. You will collaborate across the company with other departments such as accounting, investments, FP&A and actuarial. This is a great opportunity to use your desire to contribute and learn. Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with preparation of income tax provisions for monthly/quarterly/annual deadlines
Record tax entries into ledger and prepare tax account reconciliations
Gather information and prepare workpapers for US federal and state income tax compliance prepared by external advisors
Assist with federal, state and local, & foreign income tax filings; quarterly estimates; and extensions as needed
Assist with the tax reporting of the alternative investments portfolio
Preparation and/or review state insurance premium tax filings
Ability to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals, targets, and deadlines
Demonstrate attention to detail and a capacity to manage shifting priorities
Deliver effective communication internally and externally
Develop and implement process improvements in the Company's tax procedures utilizing tax technology tools to simplify and automate complex processes
Work closely with staff and managers of both the Tax and other key departments within the Company
Must be comfortable dealing with issues and topics outside of their traditional tax training and running projects fully from start to finish
The salary range for this position is $95, , The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan. BASIC QUALIFICATION
Master of Accounting, tax focused
Three or more years of relevant work experience in tax compliance and/or tax reporting
Proficient in and/or working knowledge of Excel, interest in process improvements, and tax research platforms
Knowledge of finance and accounting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP
Experience with ASC 740
Understanding of federal, state and local reporting requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA
Public accounting experience
Knowledge of statutory accounting principles
Limited partnership tax accounting experience
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the team
