    Supervisor: Development Director

    Job Summary: Support the Make-A-Wish Utah Development Program by creating, advancing, and supporting donor funding relationships.

    Location: Hybrid with a requirement to be in the Murray office one day each week following training. Must live within 90 minutes of the office.

    THE ORGANIZATION

    Make-A-Wish Utah creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, bringing joy and healing to the children who receive wishes and those who help grant them. Research shows that children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness, improving their quality of life and producing better health outcomes.

    Founded in 1985, Make-A-Wish Utah serves over 230 Utah children ages 2 1⁄2 to 18 annually. MAWU has a committed group of board members, advisors, and an extensive network of over 20 volunteers throughout the state. Make-A-Wish Utah has granted over 4,000 wishes to date and remains committed to reaching its ambitious goal of granting the wish of every eligible child within its territory.

    REPORTING STRUCTURE

    Success in fulfilling the Make-A-Wish Utah mission to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions depends entirely on the effectiveness of its development team. The Utah County Development Manager is an integral team member who, together, execute one of the most compelling, tangible, life-changing missions in non-profit — delivering hope to children and their families when they need it most.

    Make-A-Wish Utah derives funding support from individuals, organizations, and private foundations. It receives no government aid. Philanthropy and cause-related marketing are its only sources of revenue. As a member of the Development Team, the Utah County Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Development.

    Fundraising activities include internal and external events, corporate and individual giving, cause-related marketing, and grants from private foundations. Make-A-Wish Utah's Development Department positions are below. All development activity is led by the Chief Executive Officer and President and is supported by the Operations and Marketing teams.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Utah County Development Manager's responsibilities include creating partnerships and building relationships in Utah County that raise funds to support the organization's mission.

    KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Manage and grow an active portfolio of corporate and individual donors and prospects.

    · Engage corporate sponsor relationships through multiple channels, including corporate grants, cause marketing, and workplace giving campaigns.

    · Work with Make-A-Wish Utah's Development Director and its CEO, utilizing moves management strategy to identify, research, and qualify individual partnership prospects.

    · Enjoy the support of Mission Champions to build relationships.

    · Cultivate and implement Cause Marketing campaigns while ensuring MAWA and Utah regulatory compliance.

    · Develop creative pitch strategies and presentation material for prospective partners.

    · Determine strategies that are congruent with the organization's experience-based fundraising model.

    · Ensure timely donor gift acknowledgments and execution of stewardship plan.

    · Manage the Utah County Advisory Council activities to grow Utah County financial support.

    · Utilize Salesforce as the primary relationship management and activity tool.

    · Represent Make-A-Wish Utah at community, chamber, and networking events.

    · Perform other job duties as assigned.

    · Occasional weekend and evening work is required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (this may include, but is not limited to: Marketing, Business, and Nonprofit Leadership).

    · Minimum of two years of relationship-based fundraising, account management, marketing, or sales experience.

    · Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.

    · Must be capable of connecting with diverse audiences, including volunteers, board members, and partners.

    · Knowledge of Salesforce or other fundraising software is a plus.
