    Summary About the Position:

    Position may be filled as a TERM appointment NTE 2 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee.

    TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years and may be made permanent without further competition.

    Responsibilities Develop and modify annual and emergent operational requests for sustainment forces (RFFS) through United States Army Central (USARCENT) G38 and United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) to the Joint Staff.

    Utilize the Global Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) system for supporting operation plans (OPLANS), contingency plans (CONPLANs), time phased force deployment data (TPFDD) listings, and other related planning and programming documents.

    Present operational force requirements to USCENTCOM, HQDA, FORSCOM, and the Joint Staff at sourcing and synchronization workshops, conferences, and secure video teleconferences.

    Specialized and Other Experience:

    One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing, adapting, modifying, coordinating, and staffing the operational requests for sustainment forces; 2) creating and managing force requirement records; 3) developing training documents to instruct force managers on the Global Force Management allocation process and its associated information systems; 4) utilize databases such as the Force Requirements Enhanced Database (FRED) system to request forces and submit change requests; and 5) utilize databases such as FMSweb to compare Standard Requirements Codes over time to identify capability to changes.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower level (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute education for experience.     Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

    Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute education for experience. For this position, you must qualify using experience alone - no substitution of education is allowed. DO NOT SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) General Administration and Management Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

    Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

    Position may be filled as a temporary promotion/reassignment/CLG NTE 2 years by a current permanent Army employee.

    Temporary promotions/reassignments/CLGs may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.

    Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
