    Description
    OBJECTIVE Feed raw materials to production. Help with the receiving of materials. Wrapping and loading materials on the truck. Putting extruded material into blue racking. Help any department with material moves and keep up with overall department cleanliness and organization.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To apply the preferred methods/procedures as outlined below.
    Maintain a normal work pace and work safely.
    Accurately record all work activity and communicate any issues incurred.
    Make good decisions when conditions warrantObtain all material and equipment required to perform the job.
    Complete an equipment inspection report for each piece of powered equipment to be used.
    Make sure the equipment is safe, then you may mount it for travel. If the equipment requires repair, use appropriate lock out tag out procedure and notify supervisor/maintenance. Have a maintenance work order filled out.
    Obtain schedules for incoming orders requiring completion for the day.
    Create inventory labels when appropriate and affix to pallet/case(s).Stage the shipment(s) in the proper location(s).

    Use the following guidelines when determining daily assignment order:
    Feeding materials for production.
    Help with receiving when applicableWrite receiver number on the packing list.
    Receiver initials the packing list being received.
    Write down date of receipt of product.
    Unload trucks timely and efficiently as to not detain driver and longer than necessary.
    Wrapping and loading of items for the transfer trucksPlacing extruded materials into the blue racks.
    Help ANY department with material moves.
    Keep up on overall department cleanliness and organization.
    See supervisor if completely out of work. Supervisor may direct you to change your priorities based on the days business needs.
    OTHER WORK AS ASSIGNED BY YOUR SUPERVISOR.

    FORKLIFT SAFETY GUIDELINES Use the forklift travel safety guidelines:
    The operator will carry load close to the floor (4-6 inches) with mast tilted back.
    The operator will observe all traffic rules, right of way rules, warning signs, overhead clearance and floor load limits. Operator will sound his/her horn at cross aisles, exits, sharp/blind corners and pedestrian walkways. Operator will travel at a safe speed and LOOK IN THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL.

    At no time will the operator be allowed to haul additional people on the equipment (1 person per piece of equipment).Always yield right of way to pedestrians.

    You have the right of way once you start to elevate the forks. Make sure forklift and product are clear of sprinkler pipes and other structures. While lifting, the mast is to be tilted back and the load should be lifted carefully and smoothly.

    When the forklift is not in operation, it should be parked in a designated area, fork lowered, controls neutralized, and power shut offUse prescribed safe work methods and procedures.

    Bend knees when lifting and avoid lifting with your back. Keep cases and pallets close to the body when lifting or carrying.

    Avoid twisting or side to side movements when lifting or carrying (turn and step).When lifting, keep head/chin up to take more of the lift out of your back.

    Report all accidents and injuries to your supervisor as soon as they occur. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS Safe work habitsBasic math skills.
