    Your Role and Responsibilities
    The Assistant Facility Security Officer (A/FSO) position will support safeguarding of US Department of Defense information within IBM's Reston/Chantilly facilities and help maintain an over-all compliant US government security program
    This position supports both physical and personnel security for multiple contracts and customers across many IBM business units.

    • Assists the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with the overall security program.
    • Assists in development and continuous modernizing of security policy, regulations, and training.
    • Tracks security clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions in DISS, NBIS, and E-APP government systems.
    • Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for on-site and off-site personnel.
    • Provide guidance and assistance to security specialists on team.
    • Processes incoming/ outgoing visit requests and certifications
    • Review, processes, and screens SF86 security forms.
    • Ensures document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies and the FSO.
    • Assists in preparation for facility reviews and inspections.
    • Oversees the company's completion and retention of personnel security clearance records.
    • Assists the FSO in maintenance and preparation of DD Form 254s
    Required Technical and Professional Expertise


    • High School Diploma + 4 years in Industrial Security or bachelor's degree + 2 years in Industrial Security or as an AFSO
    • Current Secret Security Clearance/Secret Eligibility.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
    • Must be able to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight, and assistance to company personnel supporting all aspects of industrial security programs in compliance with the 32 CFR, Part 117 (NISPOM),) and other applicable government security policies and procedures
    Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise


    • Top Secret Security Clearance
    • Knowledge of CUI requirements, policies, and regulations
    • In-depth knowledge of DISS, NBIS and other US Government systems
