    TN Therapist Mobile Crisis/ School Based Telehelp


    SUMMARY:
    Responsible for clinical assessment of clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis situation, or perceived crisis situation. Assessments will occur in office-based settings, tele-video, as well as community-based locations.

    Responsible for providing, coordinating or managing treatment options for clients in crisis situations across the service continuum from least restrictive to most secure alternatives.

    Responsible for making decisions in coordination with Crisis Clinician with MPA status to ensure client and public safety. All cases will be staffed with an MPA.

    Acts as a facilitator for admission to a variety of placements within the crisis continuum, including:

    Crisis Stabilization Unit, Detoxification or other A&D Rehab services, state mental health hospital system and or private mental health facilities.


    AGES OF PATIENTS SERVED
    Crisis services are available to all persons on an "as needed" basis without a waiting list. All disability populations are served. All age groups are served by this position.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Education:
    Masters Degree in mental health related field required and be on Licensure/MPA track.

    Certification:
    Must possess or obtain highest level of certification appropriate to degree

    Experience:
    Experience in emergency psychiatric and crisis intervention services preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills:
    Verbal/written communication skills. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively with professionals from other disciplines.


    EQUIPMENT:
    Computer, fax, copier, and other equipment to perform functions of the job. Automobile for crisis consultations off program premises.


    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct crisis interviews with individuals and/or family members in various settings to obtain


    Information critical to the treatment of a behavioral health crisis, provide written documentation of assessments and collateral interviews, and exercise good judgment in evaluating clients and implementing effective strategies.


    • Consultation with MPA (Mandatory Prescreening Agent) to formulate an accurate provisional DSM diagnosis based on information obtained.
    • Provide assessment, service planning, crisis counseling, linkage, safety planning, advocacy and referral for referred clients.
    • Provide written documentation to complete all necessary crisis assessments and referrals. 5. Maintain client confidentiality according to Frontier Health policy and applicable state and federal statutes.
    • Remain current and proficient in knowledge of community resources and crisis services procedures.
    • Participate in all required supervision, staff meetings and in-service training from Frontier Health,
    and other required sources.


    • Provide consultation and education services to community partners, as requested.
    • Must have transportation and drive to crisis appointments.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and clarifying when needed.
    • Call Triage 20 minutes prior to shift to determine location of first assessment.
    • Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and using effective time management.
    • Average productivity will reflect 4 consults during an 8 hour shift & 5 consults during a 10 hour
    shift.


    • Demonstrate teamwork and be willing to promote a team environment.
    • Represent Frontier Health professionally at all times & adhere to agency dress code.
    • Demonstrate initiative and strive to continually improve processes and relationships with community partners.
    • Follow all Frontier Health rules, policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and standards.
