    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Analysis Engineer to join our team and contribute to the advancement of autonomous drive technology. As an Analysis Engineer for the AD Launch and Verification team, your focus will be to support the in-vehicle AD verification work with internal tooling, data analysis, and test case development. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our autonomous driving systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a cutting-edge technology revolutionizing the automotive industry.

    This role is full-time onsite in Sunnyvale, CA. A flexible working schedule can be considered once you are fully onboarded and productive.
    What we do

    We are a team within R&D dedicated to the safe verification and launch of Volvo Cars' autonomous drive products within the United States, starting with California. You will be joining a cross-functional team consisting of vehicle technicians, engineers, fleet managers, and operations specialists.
    What you will do
    • Establish and execute a robust and rigorous validation process for AD product & regulatory requirements
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand root causes of failures, identify mitigation strategies, and incorporate learnings into new designs
    • Analyze test data to provide clear and concise reporting of test results
    • Support root cause failure analysis activities during validation, and deployment
    • Build tools to mine large-scale logs and simulated data for the most interesting situations
    What you will bring
    • Bachelor's Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience
    • Build metrics and tools which measure and continuously monitor simulation validity in alignment with product, regulatory, and customer requirements
    • Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills for developing actionable insights from large, complex data set
    • Strong ability in debugging complex issues spanning multiple systems
    • Experience
      • (Required) 5+ years of experience in understanding and analyzing large, complex systems
      • (Required) Proficient with Python, SQL, or similar for analysis of large datasets.
      • (Preferred) Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks experience
      • (Preferred) Kibana Query Language
    • Required skills
      • Capable of building visualizations of complex statistics & data using a variety of tools and paradigms, and designing new visualizations when needed
      • Able to build and deliver components and libraries in Python, Jupyter, and related tools and libraries
      • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, and distributed infrastructure in general
      • Understanding of Web communication protocols such as AJAX / REST, WebSockets, etc.
      • Understanding of Web security & authentication standards such as TLS, OAuth, JWT, etc.
      • Able to work with large, multi-modal data sets, perform data analysis & transformation

    SALARY & BENEFITS:

    The estimated compensation for this position ranges from $145,000-155,000 (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon a range of factors such as a candidate's relevant skills and experience, education and certifications, and other organizational needs. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement plan with employer contribution and employee car program.
