The Nursing & Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) at Western Health are currentlyseeking highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our Nursing and Midwifery Pool teams. Our Pool services aim to fill vacancies that arise across Western Health on a daily basis. Pool and Bank nurses and midwives work across a variety of clinical settings across all campuses at Western Health.
Joining Western Health through these employment pathways offer the opportunity to enjoy variety and flexibility and often leads to transferring into ongoing permanent positions in wards in the first six months.
An exciting opportunity for our Pool workforce is commencing in the near future with the establishment of a new Western Health workforce initiative, Westwards. Westwards offers freedom in a secure, permanent workforce model where you can grow nursing and leadership capability through short-term internal and external clinical assignments. Westwards offers flexible working arrangements, career pathway testing, skill transferability and the opportunity to grow. By joining our Pool workforce now, you will prepare yourself for the Westwards workforce model when it is established, being ready to work across multiple clinical settings across multiple organisations.

Registered Nurse – Permanent contracts with Nursing & Midwifery Pool
Pool nurses at Western Health are managed by the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Unit (NMWU) and work across a variety of wards instead of working exclusively in one area. Working on Pool provides nurses a great opportunity to develop and expand their clinical skills and to experience a variety of different work places.
Pool nurses are contracted to agreed hours and are provided a roster in advance, actual areas of work are identified at least one hour before shift start time.
