    POSITION: Building Secretary - Summer School Position

    DATES: Monday-Thursday 6/17/24-8/1/24 (Week of 7/1/24 off) 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

    BUILDING: Junior/Senior High School

    RATE OF PAY: Per MESPA Contract

    REPORTS TO: Summer School Coordinator

    STARTING DATE: June 17, 2024

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Associates degree preferred.
    2. Experience working with students and the public.
    3. Excellent communication, telephone use, time management, computational mathematics, and typing speed and accuracy skills required.
    4. Advanced ability to interact effectively with school staff and administration, interact effectively with all students and their parents, and respond to customer needs in a timely manner without artificial timelines.
    5. Operate computer hardware, utilize Windows based computers, local and state software programs, web development tools, social media outlets and Google Apps suite at an advanced level of skill.
    6. Proofreading skills.
    7. Three to five years in general office work and/or training or equivalent preferred.
    8. Ability to work well with the public.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Manage phones, email, and enrollments district wide during the summer months.
    2. Work in an unsupervised office.
    3. Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive office at an approved pace.
    4. Utilize student software to manage data and generate reports, attendance, discipline, assessment and student technology. Communicate with parents, students, and staff regarding these issues.
    5. Receive and route incoming calls and respond to inquiries from the public, staff, and students
    6. Serve as confidential secretary to assigned administrator(s) and staff. Coordinate substitute staff and staff support.
    7. Assist teachers/coaches/administrators/counselors in preparing instructional, promotional, informational or athletic materials as requested, ordering of school and athletic supplies
    8. Type/transcribe a variety of material such as letters, student records, reports, memorandums, budgets, monthly statements, committee materials, etc., from rough drafts or corrected copy. Utilize digital forms of communication to streamline staff paperwork.
    9. Assist with scheduling, preparing of student reports, and maintaining student records.
    10. Organize and maintain building activity accounts, fundraising forms, and departmental orders/finances.
    11. Participates in training sessions as necessary.
    12. Schedules events, facility use and administrator access. Coordinates with other district entities to ensure efficient and equitable building use.
    13. Plans, organizes and leads events for building, program or athletic activities and social media/website.
    14. Facilitates successful interactions with outside agencies and departments. Responds to record or informational requests in a timely and organized manner.
    15. Other related duties as assigned or requested by the building principal/supervisor as this job description is subject to change.
