    The Role

    AMERGINT is seeking a FPGA/Firmware Engineer who is passionate about working closely with customers to solve difficult mission-critical challenges.

    In this important role, you will be working on the FPGA, Firmware, and PCB designs around the AMERGINT hardware portfolio.

    This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO

    Core Responsibilities

    Design, scope, and implement technical solutions that scale across AMERGINT products and customer set
    Communicate and collaborate across the engineering team and product owners
    Design and develop custom FPGA firmware under the guidance of senior engineers
    Design and develop custom PCB designs under the guidance of senior engineers
    Contribute to system design, design reviews and support of customer solutions
    Help to define and prioritize projects that help us meet business objectives
    Continuously improve, adapt, and grow

    Required Skills

    Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field with at least 4 years of work related experience
    Use VHDL and/or Verilog to develop complex sub-modules in an FPGA.
    Use VHDL and/or Verilog to develop test benches for simulation at a module level.
    Proficiently compile, route, analyze, and test FPGA designs in hardware.
    Proficiently configure an FPGA internal logic analyzer.
    Use standard coding practices to develop software for embedded processors.
    Implement DSP algorithms handed down from DSP Engineers.
    Understand and use real-time system design concepts.
    Work directly with software engineers during hardware/software integration phases.
    Read/analyze/review PCB Layouts.
    Create detailed block diagrams, circuit schematics with limited assistance and make component selections.
    Proficiently use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.

    Programming languages:
    C, VHDL, Verilog.

    Design FPGA/Firmware functional block diagrams for design review prior code development.
    Support business development with specification reviews and engineering estimates.
    Work closely with other team members and contribute to design review presentations.
    Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes.
    Willingness to learn new technology and approaches.
    Demonstrated design skills for large scale, high speed and highly available distributed systems
    Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance

    Preferred Skills

    Additional programming languages:
    Python, TCL, C++, Matlab
    Experienced in translating customer specifications into hardware designs
    Experience with Xilinx Ultrascale, MPSoC or RFSoC
    Familiar with telemetry and satellite communications

    What We Offer

    Colorado pay range from:
    $108,000 to $133,000 annually. Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
