    Mountain Recreation is actively seeking experienced Gymnasts to be an intermediate level coach for our innovative and fun gymnastics programs in Edwards, Co. This position is responsible for the supervision and instruction of the gymnastics programs and coaching gymnastics.

    Mountain Recreation offers a fun, exciting environment to our participants and staff alike; one that fosters, skill building, movement, life skills and fun Applicants must be enthusiastic and love working with children, have strong skills in working as a team with coworkers and show strong communication and class management skills. Physical requirements include lifting at least 25 pounds, continual movement over uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, setting up mats and equipment, etc.

    All employees receive a membership to all Mountain Recreation facilities.

    Gymnastics School Year Camp: Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 7:00pm

    Gymnastics Summer Camp: Monday - Thursday 9am - 12pm and/or 1:00-4:00 pm Monday-Thursday throughout the summer.

    Salary: Part-Time Hourly

    Gymnastics Coach I: $ $18.69 DOE

    Gymnastics Coach II: $ $23.21 DOE

    Staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hr incentive if they are Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

    Examples of Duties:

    - Supervises all classes and programs as assigned.

    - Assists instructors/coaches with program set-up, rosters and equipment needs.

    - Provides on-site supervision of programs and classes

    - Interact with participants and display good public relations

    - Inspect facilities as needed to ensure a safe and positive experience for participants and spectators.

    - Work as a team with other employees.

    - Other duties as assigned.

    General Statement of Duties: Responsible for providing quality instructional training / coaching to program participants. Must be able to demonstrate skills and communicate well with children.

    Supervision Required: Works under the direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor - Gymnastics and FT Gymnastics Coach
    Work Environment Work schedule and number of hours varies. Work can be physically demanding. Work schedule is varied and may require evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours vary depending upon specific program needs. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time, to talk and hear, to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, to provide gymnastics spotting for up to 175 pounds, climb or balance, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, occasional bending or squatting. The incumbent is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Also required is frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the telephone. More than 90% of time may be spent indoors. The noise level is normal to loud in an active gymnastics environment.

    Examples of Duties:

    •Assists gymnastics classes and programs with fun and excitement.

    •Provides on-site supervision of programs and classes to assist Supervisor.

    •Keep control of behavior of gymnasts at all times, and if necessary, communicate behavioral issues to supervisor.

    •Adhere and be on time to all scheduled practices.

    •Ensure safety by communicating and enforcing any gymnastics center rules, policies and guidelines at participants' comprehension level.

    •Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

    •Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job including spotting, demonstration, proper setting of equipment, etc.

    •Must be able to use the correct spotting techniques to ensure the safety of all participants.

    •Maintain a clean and safe environment. Removing any hazardous obstacles and reporting unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisor.

    •Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns, needed repairs, or incidents that may need follow-up. Is courteous and gives sincere attention to members by answering questions.

    •Assists with set up and break down of equipment and facilities and cleans facility as assigned

    •Responds to accidents and incidents according to procedures.

    •Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Required Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of gymnastics required. Strong oral communication skills are necessary and required. Ability to work with a diverse group of people effectively and diplomatically. Strong customer service skills are required and necessary. The ability to handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment, and with diplomacy is expected.

    Education/Experience:
    1. Minimum 14 years of age or older; AND
    2. High school graduation or equivalency or currently attending high school; AND
    3. Previous volunteer or work experience providing; OR
    4. Any satisfactory combination of experience and

El empleado debe sentarse, pararse y caminar regularmente durante largos perodos de tiempo, hablar y escuchar, levantar y/o mover hasta 50 libras de peso, proporcionar ejercicios de gimnasia de hasta 175 libras, escalar o mantener el equilibrio, agacharse, arrodillarse, gatear o ponerse en cuclillas ocasionalmente. Se requiere que el titular use las manos para tocar, manipular o sentir objetos, herramientas o controles. Tambin se requiere escuchar y hablar con frecuencia, en persona y por telfono. Ms del 90% del tiempo se puede pasar en el interior. El nivel de ruido es de normal a alto en un entorno de gimnasia activa.

    Ejemplos de deberes:

    • Crear experiencias acogedoras y de pertenencia para nuestra comunidad diversa eliminando barreras y obstculos para la programacin y las instalaciones del distrito.
    • Supervisar y dirigir clases y programas de gimnasia con diversin y entusiasmo.
    • Proporcionar supervisin en el lugar de los programas y clases para ayudar al Supervisor.
    • Notificar a los participantes de la clase e instructores sobre cancelaciones de clases, cambios de programa, clases agregadas, procesamiento de reembolsos, recepcin y respuesta a toda la correspondencia.
    • Supervisar siempre el comportamiento de las gimnastas y, si es necesario, comunicar los problemas de comportamiento al supervisor.
    • Adherirse y llegar a tiempo a todas las prcticas programadas.
    • Garantizar la seguridad al comunicar y hacer cumplir las reglas, polticas y pautas del centro de gimnasia al nivel de comprensin de los participantes. Comunicarse de manera efectiva tanto con los nios como con sus padres/tutores.
    • Mantener una actitud y apariencia profesional.
    • Debe ser capaz de cumplir con las demandas fsicas y emocionales del trabajo, incluidas la localizacin, la demostracin, la configuracin adecuada del equipo, etc.
    • Debe ser capaz de utilizar las tcnicas de deteccin correctas para garantizar la seguridad de todos los participantes.
    • Ensear y seguir el plan de leccin de gimnasia apropiado usando progresiones y estaciones.
    • Mantener un ambiente limpio y seguro. Quitar cualquier obstculo peligroso y reportar condiciones o equipos inseguros al supervisor.

    • Ayudar con la instalacin y el desmontaje de equipos e instalaciones y limpiar las instalaciones segn lo asignado
    • Completar los registros y la documentacin requeridos.
    • Responder a accidentes e incidentes de acuerdo a los procedimientos.
    • Realizar otras tareas que se le asignen.
    Conocimientos y habilidades requeridas

    Imprescindible conocimientos de gimnasia. Fuertes habilidades de comunicacin oral son necesarias y requeridas. Capacidad para trabajar con un grupo diverso de personas de manera efectiva y diplomtica. Fuertes habilidades de servicio al cliente son requeridas y necesarias. Se espera la capacidad de manejar situaciones difciles que involucren a los participantes con paciencia, buen juicio y diplomacia.

    Experiencia educacional:
    1. Debe tener al menos 14 aos de edad; Y
    2. Experiencia en programacin de gimnasia que haya incluido responsabilidades de supervisin; O
    3. Cualquier combinacin satisfactoria de experiencia y capacitacin.
    4. Se prefiere certificado de gimnasia
