- Respond to correspondence: copies of office notes, operative reports, etc.
- Ensure accuracy of coding and billing by working with CBO and providers.
- Greet and welcome patients.
- Review/update patient demographics and insurance information.
- Update electronic medical records, scan, and index documents in an orderly manner.
- Assist patients with questions/concerns.
- Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule appointments and follow-up appointments.
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls accordingly.
- Compile/prepare reports.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience in a physician's office including patient check-in/out, charge entry, referrals, medical coding, billing and collections, procedure referrals, and pre-certification. Work processing and related computer experience. Coding certification or participation in a coding class is preferred.
