    Under the direct supervision of the Director, Revenue Cycle/Facility, the Admitting Representative is a patient service professional responsible for coordinating & completing every phase of the admission function including: admissions, pre-admissions, interviews for financial & demographic information, obtains patient/agent signatures, document preparation for all elective, direct and/or emergency admissions, revenue collection in all settings, & data retrieval.
    • All documentation is completed in the Meditech system and enters complete data into the information systems & review for accuracy per department, local, regional, & regulatory compliance.
    • Provide superior customer service to promote patient satisfaction & retention through the successful facilitation of the revenue collection process.
    • Explains estimate that is provided and collects co-pays, required payments based on estimate from Financial Counselor when applicable and can take any payments toward balances due.
    • Verifies eligibility for payers that can be accessed via the internet through website access and iPas system. Collects all primary, secondary or tertiary insurance during time of service, Responsible for completing worklist in IPAS for mistakes and correcting them.
    • Scans all required documents into Meditech system for Point of Contact (POC) Scanning.
    • Affixes identification bracelet to the imaging patient's wrist on the side of the body opposite the intended procedure or injury per local policy.
    • Provides up-to-date information concerning admission & hospital practices & administrative procedures per HIPAA guidelines & Delta Health Compliance.
    • Facilitates the timely admission of patients throughout the hospital by coordinating patient information w/the physicians, Emergency Room, Clinic Departments, House Nursing Supervisor, Patient Care Unit Staff, & outside Care Coordinators per DH policy.
    • Obtains appropriate signatures on permits & consents per Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) consent guideline, Distributes relevant brochures/letters to patient/agent.
    • Monitor medical check in system, Fill paper and wrist bands in printers and Dispose of shredding appropriately.
    • Responds to incoming calls whether covering for switchboard or answering incoming phone calls, assists or transfers
    • Must be able to keep up with changing policies and procedures. ?
    • Locate appropriate Patient orders in file cabinet, Athena, or Care Evolve or Contact provider office by phone to receive faxed order if not already available. Responsible to file Incoming faxes and sort to appropriate areas.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    • The duty of fair dealing;
      • The duty of fair dealing requires the Admissions Representative to act honestly in all contracts entered into by the organization. The Admissions Representative must not act contrary to the spirit of any contractual arrangement, or impede of injure the right of the other party to the contract.
    • The duty to disclose material information.
      • Information is material if, considering the specific factual circumstances involved, the information would have assumed actual significance in the deliberations of the Board of Directors, or would have been considered by Board of Directors as having significantly altered the totality of the available information.
    Requirements

    PRN or "as needed" employees provide a crucial role within the organization, giving departments more flexibility to operate and ensuring that Delta Health provides superior services to our patients.
    • PRN minimum requirement: 2 shifts per month, 1 holiday per year
    • High School graduate or equivalent required.
    • Must have ability to read, write and follow instructions.
    • Ability to type 35 wpm required.
    • Six months clerical experience, with patient contact, in a medical setting preferred.
    • Ability to communicate professionally and work well as a team member required.
    • Email skill required for communication.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Good knowledge of office terminology, practices and procedures.
    • Good knowledge of patient registration or scheduling.
    • Working knowledge of computer information systems.
    • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Ability to enter data accurately using a computer keyboard.
    • Ability to meet and deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner; ability to use computer applications.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts.
