    Canacre's clients include developers, large scale utilities , and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States.

    Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.

    Environmental Project Lead will oversee the environmental aspects of large infrastructure projects.

    Including responsibility for environmental assessments and impact studies, preconstruction environmental surveys, environmental permitting, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project terms and conditions, and developing mitigation plans to minimize the project's impact on the environment while understanding and supporting construction needs.

    The Environmental Project Lead will work with internal and external partners which include clients, government entities, compliance inspection contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders to ensure that the terms, conditions, stipulations, and applicable laws are followed.

    In addition, your role will be to :
    Have direct communication with the client and be responsible for meeting client expectations
    Set and maintain project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including project financial forecasting; makes decisions with respect to overall technical execution of the project
    Liaise with technical specialists or other senior project managers to ensure the technical integrity of the project
    Manage staff engaged in project reporting and field work, particularly related to construction compliance scopes
    Confirm findings and preparation and/or review of technical reports
    Supervision and mentorship of professional staff involved in carrying out field programs, ensuring project requirements are communicated and health and safety protocols are followed
    Actively promote Health and Safety programs and culture
    Involved in business development activities and maintaining client relationships
    Participates in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates
    Qualifications
    10 years plus environmental consulting experience with progressive experience encompassing team leadership, strong experience in environmental consulting, and project or project planning background
    Degree from a program in Biology, Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science or related fields
    Professional experience working on large infrastructure projects, preference for transmission and pipeline projects
    A strong desire to drive projects to completion and take ownership of what's needed to achieve the desired outcomes
    Strong understanding of federal, state and local environmental regulations and the application and approval processes for projects
    Demonstrated success on environmental compliance projects including working through compliance requirements, implementing data management tools with support from Canacre's internal GIS and data management group
    Strong communication skills including the ability to work well in a team environment, collaborative ability working with colleagues, stakeholder in different disciplines and geographic regions
    Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time and multiple projects appropriately
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Capable of understanding and appropriately applying prescribed safety and technical protocols
