    Job DescriptionStaff-Up is seeking a Highway Estimator in Hutto, TX.

    Pay: $60k-$65kPurpose: To estimate large TXDOT and highway rebar and other accessories
    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Creating and processing accurate, complete rebar and material quotes
    • Working within multiple operating systems and departments
    • Communicating with customers
    • Creating high volume work
    • Working to support multiple customers
    • Reading civil steel blue prints and materials lists
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Works autonomously to provide quick and accurate quotes on a daily basis
    • Must be able to work in web-based plan rooms/websites
    • Identify jobs to be bid from received emails and calls from customers and/orsalesman as well as the ISqFt, AMTEK, and TXDot websites
    • Analyze and interpret scope of work from bid items lists
    • Download plans from multiple plan rooms (such as TXDot, ISqFt, Dropbox, etc.)
    • Read and interpret TXDot and city plans
    • Must be familiar with City and TXDOT Standards
    • Estimate material quantities that provides on each job based on the biditems list and downloaded plans
    • Write up thorough and accurate quotes of each job providing item descriptions,pricing and terms
    • Revise quotes as needed when addendums and/or new plans become available
    • Product searches of non-stock items that we might be able to provide (gettingcost and adding to quote as needed)
    • Email quotes to customers
    • Take phone calls from customers and salesman with questions about jobs/quotes
    Follow-up on bids to get low bidders on AMTEK and TXDot websitesRequired Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 3-5 years of experience in estimating concrete and rebar jobs
    • Excellent verbal and written communications
    • Customer service attitude
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred
