- Examines incoming, in process and completed materials or products for visual defects and compares to parts list or sample model to ensure completion to customer specifications.
- Sets up inspection jobs, calibrates inspection equipment and performs in-house inspection and testing of cast materials to verify specified dimensions.
- Uses measuring tools and diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound machine to perform inspections to products and materials.
- Interprets drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Maintains all appropriate paperwork, enters and analyzes SPC data, and compiles reports as requested.
- Must be able to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and production logs.
- Must be able to set up, calibrate, and use measuring devices such as bore gage, calipers, calipers, micrometers, ultrasound machine, etc.
- Must be able to give and follow a work instruction or a set of instructions in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order.
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and to read measuring tools.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use MS Office programs such as Word and Excel, and programs specific to the Company and Quality Department.
