    Overview

    Promotion & Education and Youth Programs Specialist ObjectiveTo provide program management, structure, and support to the Michigan Farm Bureau Promotion and Education and High School programs.

    Responsibilities

    Promotion & Education and Youth Programs Specialist ResponsibilitiesWork in coordination with the Promotion and Education (P&E) manager to manage, promote, oversee, and execute P&E and high school programs, including the Educator of the Year Award, Farm Bureau scholarship, National Agriculture Week, National Farm Safety Week, the High School Discussion Meets, Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Careers Conference, 4-H Excellence Awards, #SpeakAg Award, and other programs as assigned. Coordinate quarterly State P&E Committee meetings and retreat, including location, travel arrangements, meals, agenda, and booklets. Provide support at State P&E meetings and record minutes. Receive, track, and process State P&E Committee expense reports. Develop and maintain an accurate resource guide of P&E resources available and coordinate distribution to appropriate groups and individuals in collaboration with the P&E manager and Michigan Agriculture in the Classroom manager. Develop operating procedures, infrastructure, recruitment, and communications plans to execute and promote P&E and high school programs in coordination with the P&E manager providing status reports to County Administrative Managers (CAMs) and Regional Managers for all events and programs.

    Qualifications

    Promotion & Education and Youth Programs Specialist Qualifications RequiredBachelor's degree in agriculture, education, communication, public relations, or communications required, or equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum two years of experience in agriculture/agribusiness industry required. Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. PreferredExperience in program management, working with organizations, and training volunteers preferred. Experience working with farmers and volunteers preferred.
