    Job DescriptionDescription:

    Function:

    The individual in this role will perform diverse mechanical repair and preventative maintenance functions on a variety of building equipment. Requires knowledge or material handling and building mechanical equipment. Works independently within assigned area(s). This position will participate in an on-call rotation.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Performs general mechanical duties including but not limited to: changing filters, lubricating machine parts, repairing leaks, minor electrical work.
    2. May assist in the installation, maintenance, and renovation or mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, boiler systems, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire safety, and commercial equipment repair.
    3. Performs routine inspections and upkeep on various buildings on campus.
    4. Responds to work tickets timely and provides updates on necessary repairs to supervisors and the individuals who submitted the tickets.
    5. Follows all safety protocols and standard operating procedures for all mechanic shop equipment.
    6. Performs other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1-2 years experience
    • Ability to read e-mail or be trained on computer.
    • Ability to read and understand instructions for the safe use of machinery, tools and Material Safety Data Sheets (M.S.D.S.).
    • Valid Missouri vehicle operators permit and be able to drive manual transmission.
    • Knowledge of safe work practices.

    Work Conditions:

    • Duties are performed inside and outside in variable weather conditions with daily exposure to noise, dust, pollen, mold spores, heat, cold, rain, snow and exhaust fumes. Work requires frequent and repeated lifting, bending, stooping reaching, walking and riding equipment while operating foot pedals and hand controls. Work requires safety awareness and attention to details.
    • Ability to work weekends or nights, if required, and be called in on emergency situations.
    • Ability to complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
    • Ability to comply with College's policy of Duties and Responsibilities.
