    Summary:

    The Assistant Laboratory technician will assist with various tasks in the laboratory, including sample preparation, equipment maintenance, data entry, and inventory management.

    Essential Duties of Position:

    • Perform basic laboratory testing
    • Maintain a clean work environment
    • Assist technicians and management with laboratory needs in their functions as required
    • Assist with sample preparation, including weighing, measuring, and mixing chemicals or compounds as directed
    • Operate laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers under the supervision of senior laboratory staff
    • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results
    • Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures, test results, and other data
    • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and restocking laboratory supplies and chemicals
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all laboratory staff
    • Adhere to quality control standards and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing laboratory tasks
    • Excellent Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally with colleagues
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies
    • Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures at all times

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Associates degree or certificate in laboratory science or related field preferred
    • Previous laboratory experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
