POSITION SUMMARY
The

IT Director

a full-time, exempt role based in our

Kansas City, MO office .

This role is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the IT function and department, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategy, goals and objectives.

This role focuses on coordinating with various internal teams and departments, and is responsible for directing the firm's IT department.

The IT Director will oversee elements of the firm's supply-chain and work closely with the IT Security team, Knowledge & Experience Management, Business Analytics, Litigation & Trial Support, and other Shared Services groups.

Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the organization's existing needs and anticipates future direction, focusing on scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.

Coordinate with the IT Security team, Knowledge & Experience Management, Business Analytics, Litigation & Trial Support, and other Shared Services groups to ensure efficient and secure operations.

Oversee system development, enhancement, and integration, ensuring seamless interoperability of new and existing systems.

Continuously review and update IT policies and procedures, including , disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision, to reflect industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.

Implement and maintain best practices for risk management and cybersecurity, including awareness, evaluation, proactive techniques, and mitigation of known risks and threats.

In partnership with the CIO, manage the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
Oversee supply-chain security and procurement activities, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulations.
Collaborate with all departments of the organization to ensure IT needs are met and support business objectives.

Manage all technical third-party business relationships, including contract negotiations and vendor management and advise the CIO and other relevant stakeholders on technology steering and procurement.

Stay current with the latest technologies and determine which new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.

Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, including remote employees, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with sufficient business education such as advanced business education programs required. Graduate-level education preferred.
10+ years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Previous experience managing others.
Demonstrated track record of staying current on technology best practices.
Data-driven decision-making expertise.
Outstanding client service and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with leaders at all levels of an organization and effectively collaborate across departments.
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically and prior experience embracing and leading change.

Strong sense of urgency and work ethic, often needing to run to the fire to support the IT team and other departments.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Experience in driving digital transformation and managing change.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 lbs. required.
Ability to talk and hear required.
Ability to perform repetitive motions required.
Ability to sit, stand and walk required.
Ability to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop and crouch required.
Ability to see and read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print.
