    Description

    Job Title: Assistant Camp Director - Day Camp

    The Assistant Summer Day Camp Director assists the Camp Director in the administration and coordination of the summer day camp program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Attend mandatory supervisors' weekend in May (date and time to be determined)
    • Develop professional goals for the summer that support and meet GSWNY's mission and camp goals
    • Assume responsibility of the Camp Director in their absence
    • Assist with hiring of camp staff
    • Maintain open lines of communication with the Camp Director/Director of Camp Administration
    • Work closely with the Camp Director to develop pre-camp training schedule
    • Teach specialized trainings during pre-camp
    • Help build staff morale and growth by being a visible role model around camp
    • Supervise and evaluate direct reports: Unit Heads (Daisy, Brownie, Junior Cadette) & Unit Counselors

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • 21 years old or older, minimum age requirement
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in administrative, supervisory camp position
    • Valid driver's license and cleared to drive council's leased vehicles
    • Ability to guide/supervise other adults
