Job description
The Collar Club
Boarding Grooming Daycare
Professional Pet Groomer –
Tired of feeling like just another number in a corporate salon?
At The Collar Club, we do things differently. We believe talented groomers deserve respect, fair pay, and a supportive environment that values both their skill and their love for animals. If you're ready to leave behind cookie-cutter grooming quotas and join a team that takes pride in quality over quantity, we'd love to meet you.
The Collar Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. This is a commission-based position (40–50% depending on experience). We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and professionalism, and we are looking for someone who embodies both expertise and genuine love for animals.
Our Hiring Process
We take hiring very seriously to ensure the right fit for our team and culture. The application process includes three phases:
- Online application submission
- 30-minute in-person interview, followed immediately by a 2–3 hour working interview
- One-week paid working internship. At the end of this internship, final hiring decisions will be made.
This process ensures that you not only demonstrate your grooming skills but also experience our work environment and expectations firsthand.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services for dogs and cats, including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling to breed standards or owner preference
- Trim nails, clean ears, and provide additional grooming services as needed
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all pets in your care
- Safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments (must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs)
- Monitor pets for health or behavioral concerns and promptly report findings
- Maintain strict cleanliness and organization of the grooming area
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies with precision
- Provide excellent customer service through professionalism and quality work (client communication is handled primarily by management)
Qualifications
- Proven professional grooming experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of breed-specific grooming techniques for both dogs and cats
- Ability to confidently and safely handle animals of all temperaments
- Grooming certification or related field training (preferred, but not required)
- At least three professional references
- Passion for working with animals and commitment to excellence
Why The Collar Club?
We know that great grooming takes more than a stopwatch and a quota. At The Collar Club, your expertise is valued, your time is respected, and the animals' well-being always comes first. Unlike the corporate salons, we don't cut corners on quality or push groomers to rush. We invest in our team, uphold the highest standards of care, and foster an environment where both pets and professionals can thrive. If you're ready to grow your career in a salon that takes pride in its people as much as its pets, The Collar Club is the place for you.
