    Position Requirements

    About this Location:

    The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase has four fully equipped operating rooms that are the focus of the 15,000-square-foot facility featuring the most current advances in medical technology.

    Case Assignment:

    The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase serves the specialties of general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pain management, plastic surgery, podiatry, and urology. CRNAs and MDs have the opportunity to develop and improve skills in multi-model analgesia/ultrasound-guided techniques/ ERAs.

    The top three cases performed at this site include upper and lower orthopedic cases, spine (maximum 2 levels with no invasive lines), and plastics.

    Practice Model: Team-based model. Most commonly, medical supervision (MDs do 20% of their cases).

    Schedules Include:

    • Monday-Friday (Thursday has 10 and 12 hour rooms)
    • No Call

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the directing and coordinating of Activities in the Anesthesia Department
    • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
    • Pre-anesthesia assessment
    • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
    • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
    • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
    • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
    • Performance of clinical intervention as needed
    Requirements:
    • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
    • ECFMG and FLEX
    • Completion of an approved residency in Anesthesia
    • Currently licensed as a Physician
