    Description

    The Town of Davie has transitioned to a four (4) day work week schedule (10 hours per day). Hours of work are Monday through Thursday either 7:00am-5:30pm or 7:30am-6:00pm.

    Under supervision of the Chief Electrical Inspector, performs technical work associated with the reviewing of electrical plans to assure compliance with the Florida Building Code, National Electrical Code, Broward County Amendments, and Town Ordinances if applicable. Occasionally performing electrical field inspections, and a variety of other duties associated with enforcement of the Florida Building Code.

    Minimum Requirements (Must meet by the closing date of the posting unless otherwise stated)

    EDUCATION:
    REQUIRED:
    • Graduation from an accredited High School or GED.
    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
    REQUIRED:
    • Must meet all the requirements for appointment as a Electrical Plans Examiner from the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days;
    • Must be certified by the State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulations;
    • Must obtain State and County certification within six (6) months of date of hire;
    • Each of the applicants shall possess a current Certificate of Competency or a Professional License in the discipline requested as a Contractor or Engineer issued by at least one (1) of the following entities:
      • Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board
      • Broward County Central Examining Board
      • Miami-Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board
      • Florida Board of Professional Engineers.
  • A valid Class "E" Florida driver's license.
  • PREFERRED:
    • Certification as a Building Plans Examiner from the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days;
    • Be able to obtain a Building Plans Examiner certification from the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) within 60 days.

    • This position will be open until filled.
