Mixed Signal IC Verification Engineer - Raleigh, United States - Spreadtrumusa
Description
Verify mixed signal (RF/analog/digital) ICs using SystemVerilog/UVM metric driven verification (MDV) and real number modeling (RNM).This position is part of the RF IC Engineering Division with locations in San Diego, San Jose, Chicago, and Greensboro, NC.
Candidate is free to work in any location where RF IC Engineering Division has an office.Metric driven verification and real number modeling skills are emphasized, experience with cellular systems preferred.
Responsibilities
Chip level verification of cellular transceiver ICs using SystemVerilog/UVM/RNM/MDV techniques.
Real number modelling of analog circuits, both RF and baseband, to include PLLs, ADCs/DACs, mixers, LDOs.
Develop test plans and stimulus to ensure full coverage of transceiver requirements and use cases.
Develop UVM agents, environments, and coverage models to support verification of the transceiver.
Verify integration/function of DSP algorithms when coupled with analog circuits.
Support lab verification of the transceiver by sharing portions of the verification environment with the lab test team.
Coordinate with Analog IC and System Design teams during product development.
Support all stages of development and verification from design through prototype, beta, production and support.
Report bugs found and work with design engineers for resolution.
Develop improvements/enhancements to existing verification environments.
Critically analyze and verify system performance through simulation, test, and measurements.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to engineering staff and other departments.
Maintain skills and expertise in the IC verification, RF, and telecommunications industry.
Strong debugging skills, both simulation and hardware (RF, analog, and digital).
Ability to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly changing environment.
Estimated travel requirement is about up to 3 to 4 times a year, domestic and overseas, averaging 1-2 weeks in duration.
ExperienceExperience developing and maintaining mixed signal verification environments using metric driven and constrained random methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge in cellular system (GSM/EDGE, CDMA, WCDMA, LTE, 5G NR) preferred.
Verification of communications or digital signal processing systems desired.
At least 5+ years of experience, with more desired. Targeting a staff/senior staff level position.
