- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather IAM requirements, communicate changes, develop strategies, and facilitate integrations with authentication and authorization services.
- Ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and improvements to authentication and authorization software platforms.
- Identifying and managing essential hardware and software technologies for IAM environments.
- Developing automation workflows for deployment, configuration, and monitoring of IAM systems.
- Managing IAM automation tools and infrastructure, including security configurations.
- Building relationships with IAM vendors for new technology implementations and documentation of IAM systems.
- Consulting on design changes and enhancements to meet business requirements.
- Participating in team skill improvement and system reliability to ensure effective IAM services.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for troubleshooting performance issues and implementing improvements.
- Assisting in the evaluation and selection process for new services and enterprise applications.
- Responsible for the technical deployment and support of enterprise IAM applications.
- Administering application security in line with RIT standards.
- Providing 24/7 support and participating in ITIL practices.
- Experience in information technology (2 to 4 years)
- Understanding of identity & access management
- Experience in Unix environments and core networking principles
- Proficient in authentication and authorization software platforms
- Conceptual understanding of CI/CD or GitOps and web technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Capability to implement security controls, compliance, monitoring, and logging
- Understanding of cloud services and programming languages
- Recent experience in higher education environment
- Experience in information technology (2 to 4 years)

Job Summary
Rochester Institute of Technology is seeking an IAM Engineer II to join the dynamic Information Technology Services (ITS) team where innovative solutions are always in the making! This role is within the Infrastructure Applications team responsible for providing essential IT services to support the RIT community. Responsibilities include technical design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated software-centric Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, applications, and integrations.

As a level II IAM Platform Engineer, you are expected to possess practical knowledge of various technologies and influence operational decisions within the organization. Your work will impact multiple departments and teams, and you may provide guidance to fellow employees.
