    1. Ensures that residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect; maintains resident's privacy and confidentiality and adheres to resident's bill of rights at all times.

    2. Assists with the day to day activity programs in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the facility.

    3. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene and mobility.

    4. Interviews residents and families periodically to obtain recreational history and to determine activity needs.

    5. Participates in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the needs of the resident and family.

    6. Involves the residents and families in planning activity programs as much as possible.

    7. Ensures that the recreational needs of all residents are provided for with the highest quality of care.

    8. Assists in transporting residents to location of activities functions as needed.

    9. Chaperone activities outside the facility when required.

    10. Complies with the daily scheduled programs, activities, parties, special events, etc. and makes schedule available to all residents.

    11. Provides information regarding scheduled activities to residents and families and encourages residents to participate.

    12. Encourages resident's participation in hobbies and crafts and provides materials for such activities in accordance with department budget.

    13. Assists with events, programs, crafts, etc.

    14. Provides reading material and access to library services for all residents.

    15. Maintains an excellent working relationship with medical professionals, facilities and organizations.

    16. Completes forms, reports, studies, etc. as needed.

    17. Report information pertaining to changes in resident's functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.

    18. Ensures that residents and visitors follow established policies and procedures at all times.

    19. Reports residents and family grievances for review by the Director of Activities.

    20. Ensures that clean, orderly, sanitary and safe environment for residents is maintained at all times.

    21. Uses appropriate protective clothing as needed.

    22. Makes recommendations regarding the equipment and supply needs of the activities department.

    23. Participates in new employee orientation programs as needed.

    24. Participates in ongoing education and training.

    25. Works with the facility consultant as necessary and implements recommended changes as required.

    26. Participates in all required meetings such as care plan, utilization review, etc. as needed.

    27. Maintain activities storage closets for upkeep and supply control.

    28. Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
