    Description

    Under the direct supervision of licensed ED staff, the ED technician provides patient care and operational support for patients in the emergency department consistent with CMC/DHK#s mission, vision and values.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Patient transport, EKGs, personal care/assistance, vital signs including orthostatics, venipuncture, specimen collection, IV catheter removal, applies and/or assists with orthopedic devices, completes and/or assists with wound care, cleansing, dressing application # removal, provide therapeutic interventions as delegated by licensed healthcare providers including care of our behavioral health patients.

    Stocks patient care areas, daily check of carts, rooms and specialty needs, equipment set-up for procedures and specialty equipment, cleans and prepares treatment spaces.

    High school diploma or equivalent education. 2 years experience in acute hospital setting, ambulance service or ambulatory care preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Phlebotomy experience preferred. EKG experience preferred. Medical terminology expertise.

    Basic Life Support (BLS), NH Medical Technician Registry, acquire MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification within 90 days upon hire.

    NH State EMS Providers license (EMT certification) and/or NREMT, NH LNA, or CMA/RMA via AAMA, AMT or NHA certification education required.
