    Woodbury School is looking for an assistant principal to assume assigned tasks so as to relieve the building principal of daily involvement in the routine operation of the school; to assist in the establishment and implementation of humanistic approaches to student discipline; and to provide organization and direction to the student activities programs.

    Preferred candidates will have a minimum of three years of public education experience with current principal certification or has matriculated into an administration and supervision program.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of accounting procedures for student attendance, absence, tardiness and dismissal.
    2. Administer and evaluate the discipline procedures of the school.
    3. Recommend student disciplinary actions to the building principal regarding infractions, which require the intervention of the building principal or for matters, not covered by procedures of the district.
    4. Assist in the development and implementation of student orientation programs and student assembly programs.
    5. Coordinate the development and implementation of co-curricular programs and report to the principal the effectiveness of the programs with appropriate recommendations.
    6. Assist the building principal with planning and supervising graduation activities.
    7. Coordinate with the Athletic Director the preparation and verification of all interscholastic eligibility lists and the development of a student award program.
    8. Develop plans for building security satisfactory to the Superintendent of Schools and the building principal, implement the approved plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of the program at least yearly.
    9. Conduct regular safety inspections of the building and grounds; plan and carry out appropriate safety drills and report recommendations to the building principal and Superintendent of Schools.
    10. Assign appropriate personnel to bus duty, lunch duty, and other general supervisory responsibilities in order to maintain a healthy and safe environment and to supervise, monitor and evaluate the performance of these duties.
    11. Assist the building principal in the preparation of the student master schedule and the various guides and handbooks of the school.
    12. Attend regularly scheduled staff/team meetings.
    13. Interview teacher candidates as requested by the Superintendent of Schools and/or the building principal.
    14. Observe teachers in the classroom and complete appropriate reports.
