- Ensure consistent UW policies, procedures, and processes
- Address underwriting issues from internal and external partners
- Review underwriting packages before distribution to the Investment Committee
- Monitor deal progress and resolve issues during due diligence
- Act as a credible resource to senior management on deal specifics and risks
- Communicate effectively with the deal team and address deal-level issues
- Review third party reports and due diligence thoroughly
- Ensure questions from IC are addressed promptly
- Resolve deal/transaction issues before closing
- Demonstrate tact and discretion consistently
- Seasoned real estate professional with extensive knowledge of the residential sector
- Experienced in underwriting, structuring, and monitoring multifamily debt transactions
- Previous experience with transitional assets and GSE multifamily lending programs
- Familiarity with Special Servicing, Loan Restructuring/Workout, and Distressed Loan
- Skilled in debt and equity transactions, full capital structures, and equity structuring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver results
- Travel readiness for site inspections
- Management skills in team building and talent development
- Effective organizational and priority management skills
- High emotional intelligence and ethical approach
- Capacity to understand business dealings and business plans
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; MBA or equivalent a plus
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
- Proficiency in technology and Microsoft Suite
- Experience with Yardi preferred
- Investment analytical skills and advanced Excel modeling capabilities

Position Summary
The AVP, Senior Underwriter role involves reviewing underwriting and due diligence of transitional loans in the MF1 program. Responsibilities include providing timely feedback to underwriters, addressing credit issues proactively, and managing relationships with key stakeholders such as joint venture partners, borrowers/sponsors, and the Debt Investments team.
