    Crater

    Job Summary

    • Builds and prepares wooden crates in preparation for the shipment of manufactured goods.
    • May operate on First Shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) or Second Shift (1:30pm – 12:00am).

    Description

    • Follows all work instructions and requirements to build and label wooden crates and boxes.
    • Keeps accurate records/documents work procedures.
    • Coordinates work with shipping schedule.
    • Operates power cut off saw, lift tables, power shrink wrap and other electronic tools.
    • Reads blueprints.
    • Ensures quality and accuracy in work.
    • Operate fork truck, crane and other machinery.
    • Ensures work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Observes all safety rules and requirements related to the operation of tools, machinery, and the disposal of scrap or other materials.
    • Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
    • Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.
    • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
    • Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • High school degree or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with basic math skills.
    • Ability to utilize a computer to access drawings, work instructions, or other documents.
    • Ability to read blueprints and follow standard work instructions.
    • Ability to operate hand tools, including air powered nail and staple guns, wood saws, steel and plastic banding, measuring tools, such as a tape measure, and other related tools and equipment.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain certification to drive and operate a fork truck, crane and/or other related vehicles or machinery.
    • Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job.
