Director of Revenue Integrity
provides management, oversight, staff training and direction for charge description master integrity, patient account charge audits, regulatory audits and appeals, underpayment recovery and denials management for the hospital and physician clinic services.
The director acts as liaison between the Finance department, Information Systems and Clinical Operations regarding clinical and financial systems integrity as it relates to the organization's revenue cycle management, long-term financial strategy, and regulatory compliance.
This position serves the Chief Financial Officer, Director of Finance, Senior Administrative Staff, Department Managers, hospital staff and visitors.Work Hours/Shifts:
7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience:
Education :
B.A. degree or five (5) years' experience in a finance department with revenue cycle management.
Experience:
Experience supporting financial software systems and applications. Direct experience in healthcare which required the responsibility of analyzing charge description master issues. Direct experience in accounts receivable management to include billing, collections, reimbursement and denials management at a supervisory level.
Skills and Knowledge :
Basic lingual, mathematical and computer skills; demonstrated leadership abilities; knowledge of hospital accounts receivable, medical records, admissions, accounting and other revenue cycle systems and processes.
Serves as on-call contact for after hours.Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include coordinating and executing revenue integrity functions such as coordination of organizational employee education and training on financial systems as they derive their information from clinical service information systems; charge master administration and maintenance, regulatory compliance for revenue cycle system service charges, and revenue-cycle related audits, analyses, reporting and recommendations.
Responsible for exercising discretion and independent judgment related to the successful integration of clinical services with financial accounting and reporting requirements, and the resolution of matters of significance on behalf of management.
Reviews, analyzes, documents, and evaluates revenue systems and users' needs regarding the entire revenue cycle.Coordinates and analyzes open system projects and issues with the Financial and IT departments.
Ensures that the Charge Master is updated, coordinates with department Directors the development and implementation of new charges and/or new systems that allows for monitoring of "lost charges' throughout the facility; ensures proper codes are being assigned and added by the departments;
Creates and maintains financial reports and queries from the financial system and communicate findings back to the appropriate area for review;
Evaluates system issues between departments to identify data integrity problems; troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and facilitates resolution;
Prepares and implements policy and procedure documentation for the users in the Financial areas;
Trains users in the use and capabilities of the financial applications, conduct training needs assessments; develop training material to meet the users' needs; schedules and coordinates training sessions; conducts classroom training and one-on-one training sessions.
