    Under general direction, plan, coordinate and implement program areas and activities (e.g. community services, special projects, education, program reporting, team meetings, etc.), evaluate program implementation and recommend modifications as needed.Provide specialized mental health or alcohol and other drug services including Mental Health Assessment, Chemical Dependency or Dual Diagnosis Assessment, Behavioral Health Counseling and Therapy Services, or other chemical dependency treatment services, Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment or case management.

    Program statement:

    Catholic Charities in Wayne County is hiring an experienced, communicative and compassionate individual to serve as a therapist for our Wooster office. The program works closely with the Wayne County Juvenile Court to offer creative treatment and intervention services for youth referred by the court with problematic behaviors including sexual offending and other challenges. Staff will work with the family and youth as part of a clinical team to develop strategies to reduce risks of youth reoffending, and aid them in being successful in their home and community. Staff will attend court hearings, participate in team meetings, and provide counseling in the home and the office. We are a faith-based organization that provides professional services without regard to a person's personal belief system and are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. We provide comprehensive clinical assessments for mental health and/or substance use.This is a challenging but rewarding position and only those who truly want to make an impact should apply

    Clinical Supervision toward independent license available

    What you will be doing:
    • Create safety plans and utilize evidence based curriculum practices and strategies with youth and their families in order to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Participate as part of a clinical team to identify and implement effective treatment strategies for referred youth.
    • Meet/exceed all productivity and notes/clinical documentation requirements (and other professional and operating standards) as defined by our organization, licensing, and accrediting bodies.
    • Foster a supportive environment by developing therapeutic relationships with those we serve and strong professional relationships with other Catholic Charities staff and our community partners including the court, schools and other mental health providers.
    • Staff member will complete mental health, substance use and trauma screenings for the juvenile court.
    • Facilitate groups for referred juvenile court youth.
    • Participate in hearings and meetings with juvenile court staff members.
    Job duties:
    • Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
    • Plan, develop, analyze and evaluate the delivery of program services and activities to best meet the needs of the clients/participants.
    • May recommend new programs and services.
    • Maintain caseload, per contract guidelines.
    • Compile and maintain statistics on clients/participants; record keeping of individual files.
    • Confer with client/participant and their families regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures; conduct individual and group orientation to program expectations.
    • Compile program reports and statistical data as needed.
    • May maintain relationships with clients/participants that require some degree of judgment in choosing appropriate approaches to solve problems.
    • May provide treatment and/or case management for a wide range of clinical problems, depending on program(s).
    • Develop and maintain frequent contacts with peers and/or administrative personnel in other agencies for client and site related information for joint planning and action.
    • Refer clients/participants to internal and external sources and/or community resources to supplement services needed.
    • Represent site at professional seminars, community meetings and events.
    • Provide (administrative, clinical, reflective) supervision and monitor the performance of staff as needed.
    • Within scope of practice, implement site/corporation-approved treatment practices, procedures or interventions.
    • Conduct a diagnostic or needs assessment on referred clients.
    • Consultation services may be provided according to priorities established to produce the greatest benefit in meeting the mental health and/or alcohol and other drug service needs of the community.
    • Plan, implement and evaluate services with the participation of persons served and their families.
    • Develop, maintain and monitor assigned clients' ISP ; review assigned clients' progress in treatment and may communicate with other qualified mental health or alcohol and other drug providers, child care, administrative, educational staff and referring agency staff regarding the progress of assigned clients.
    • Provide individual and group services as described above and based upon contractual requirements.May develop other therapeutic activities.
    • Hold a small caseload. Services will be provided where youth lives and functions depending on program needs.
    • Provide in-home, community, or school to youth with severe emotional disturbance depending on program needs.
    • Provide referrals to other services as required or necessary.
    • Assist and support clients served in crisis situations as needed or appropriate for crisis intervention and safety planning.
    • Maintain fidelity to program rules.
    • Assist parent(s) of clients in strengthening communication skills; access appropriate physical and mental health care and chemical dependency resources as needed; access transportation needs; and provide opportunities to build social skills.
    • Collaborate and coordinate services with other involved professionals including psychiatry and may monitor psychiatric symptoms of clients as appropriate.
    • Provide training to direct care staff regarding the implementation of behavior therapy plans or specialized treatment procedures as needed.
    • Monitor and follow up services accessed by client to determine if services meet the clients' needs and determine any further follow up activity.
    • Participate in quality improvement activities and service evaluation.
    • Attend and participate in meetings, supervision and in-service trainings regarding specific areas of responsibility.
    • Adhere to ethical standards specified by the Ohio Administrative Code and Catholic Charities' code of ethics.
    • Meet the training requirements of the organization and the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
    • Maintain professional licensure in accordance with the Ohio Administrative Code and provide Human Resources with a copy of his/her current professional license.
    • Complete all progress notes and other documentation as required by policy, departmental procedure and accreditation.
    • Provide and ensure the safety and rights of each assigned client by adhering to Clients Rights Policies;and report violations of client rights in accordance with policy.
    • Meet the productivity standard in the provision of direct client services, such as individual and group services.
    • Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.
    Typical work environment:
    • Occasional travel throughout service area.
    • Frequent walking, sitting, talking, standing, listening/hearing in working with perspective and current employees and clients.
    • Reading, writing, grasping and finger dexterity needed to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer, keyboard andpersonnelfiles required on a frequent basis.
    • Tasks require visual perception and discernment.
    • High degree of concentration for analyzing, interpreting and organizing data.
    • Organizing and coordinating schedules.
    • Communicating with the public.
    • Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone.
    • Occasionally necessary to bend for filing and storing and to reach for files and shelves.
    • Able to occasionally lift/carry up to 20 lbs. unassisted
    • Willingness to work a diverse schedule that may include some evening and weekends.
    • If providing transportation services, must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide copy of driver's license and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.Any MVR grade of "unacceptable" is not permitted to operate a vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.
    • If transporting clients, must provide proof of auto insurance including effective dates of coverage and maintain minimum liability insurance coverage of $100,000 per individual and $300,000 per occurrence for driving personal vehicle.
    • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
    Education:
    • Combination of education and experience normally represented by a bachelor's degree in social work or related field with three to five years relevant work experience, including supervision.Master's Degree required.
    • LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC required.
    • Current certification in First Aid and CPR, as needed per program requirements.
    • Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of people, both professional and volunteers; represent the Site/Corporation to outside organizations and systems.
    • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural, and administrative backgrounds.
    • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Good working knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
    • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships depending on site and program needs.
