Visionist has an exciting new, fully FUNDED opportunity for a Software Engineer on our newly awarded Prime contract. You will be supporting a customer that creates novel mission solutions in cyber related technologies and products. We are looking for talented software engineers who are eager to achieve the kind of game-changing leap forward that our customers need across a spectrum of cyber capabilities. At the heart of Visionist are talented and motivated software engineering teams empowered to create cutting edge technologies and systems that solve difficult problems for a wide variety of cyber mission operations. You will be working with a team of engineers that hold related skills and work in tandem to solve tough technical and mission focused problems, with the necessary computing resources at your fingertips. You will also gain experience in Linux, Python, and other scripting languages.

Responsibilities:

• Develop system documentation for how cloudbased application works
• Develop modifications to add new functionality to existing cloudbased applications
• Work with a product team to analyze cloudbased applications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 7 years of experience in Software Development
• Experience with Rust and Python
• Experience with Opensource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as HBase, Acumulo, Big Table, etc.
• Experience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
• Experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)
• Experience with Serialization such as JSON and/or BSON
