    Peckham Inc. - 3PL Shipping & Receiving Clerk
    • Shift: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
    • Wage: $19.25/hr + Health & Welfare Benefit
    • Location: Watertown A Warehouse (5408 W. Grand River Ave. Lansing, MI
    SUMMARY

    Will work in a large warehouse environment pulling stocked goods from bins and placing them in shipping boxes according to the material orders. The warehouse stocks basic issue items for the military. The persons in these positions will work relatively unsupervised throughout the day pulling orders and preparing them for shipping. At the start of the shift the person will be given a handheld radio frequency unit with a LED readout monitor, a bar code scanner, and a pushcart containing up to 6 prepared boxes to be filled. The handheld unit contains the requirements for each order to be filled; the prepared boxes are labeled for each order. The worker must read the order from the handheld unit and identify the correct bin to pull the stock from. The worker must also verify that the item in the bin is the correct item to pull. Accuracy is extremely important, but speed is also a factor. The worker must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Use radio-frequency stock locator to retrieve stock.
    • Fill orders by identifying items requested and pulling items from stock.
    • Reports any discrepancies in orders to warehouse supervisor.
    • When required, key in 15-digit part numbers into computer.
    • Verify completeness of order before shipping.
    • Accurately package and label merchandise to be shipped.
    • Daily use of push carts and motorized pallet jacks, bar code scanner and occasional use of computer.
    • Meets deadlines.
    • Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer's standards of use and cleaning.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
    • Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.
    • Provide training support for peers.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • At least 18 years old.
    • Must be able to lift to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
    • Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
    • Must be able lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
    • Access to reliable transportation.
    • Must gain and maintain necessary security clearances.
    • Basic math level.
    • Basic English reading and writing skills.
    • Basic computer skills.

    • Complete job tasks independently.
    • Ability to follow directions.
    • Ability to multi-task effectively.
    • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic Microsoft Excel.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
