    We are looking for a Senior Counsel for the US Communications Solutions team. The candidate will manage a significant portfolio of commercial agreements, draft and negotiate complex agreements with our customers, partners, and data providers, anticipate and protect the company against risk exposure, advise stakeholders on the status of agreement negotiations, and exhibit a willingness to learn.     What You'll Bring:
    You will maintain primary responsibility for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting assigned complex contracts, related documents, and projects. You will be responsible for providing advice to stakeholders regarding changes in the law, contracts, or other legal issues that may involve the company's short or long-term strategic operations, and you may be needed to assist other attorneys on various matters including those which present potential for litigation.

    • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required and 4+ (likely 4-6) years of experience, with at least 4 years' experience as a practicing attorney (strong preference to in-house) focused on negotiating complex contracts.
    • Ability to build and foster strong relationships with, and relate well to, peers, staff, and management of all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work independently yet exhibit sound judgment in seeking guidance and direction from senior attorneys and escalating issues.
    • Proficiency with generally used programs such as Microsoft Office (Word; Excel; PowerPoint).
    • This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.


    We're also looking for the preferred skills below. Whether you are proficient or could use some brushing up, we're happy to support your development in:

    • Experience advising clients with regard to and negotiating data and technology licensing agreements. A strong regulatory compliance background is preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience in the telecommunications industry to include knowledge of CPNI regulations, and also experience with privacy, intellectual property, the FCRA; and the GLBA.


    Impact You'll Make:
    This role reports directly to the Director, Assistant General Counsel, who leads and manages this particular commercial legal team.

    • In the first ninety (90) days you will learn internal company policies, contracting processes, and contract strategies, as well as knowing the services/solutions and associated contracts for which you will negotiate and otherwise support.
    • Day to day responsibilities will include managing the contracts and other projects assigned to you, partnering with other internal teams; periodic mentoring; and attending internal and external calls.
