- Four (4) years experience in wildland fire suppression OR a bachelor's degree in forestry or a related natural resources field and at least one (1) year of wildland fire suppression.
- Equivalent experience for seasonal roles: One 3-6 month season equals one year of experience.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Successful completion of a physical fitness test at the arduous level is mandatory.
- Keep track of aircraft flight time, maintenance, and duty day schedules for contractor air crews and aircraft.
- Submit daily aircraft use summaries, aircraft status, and incident-specific cost summaries.
- Deliver daily safety and operational briefings to air crews.
- Review Daily Risk Assessments with air crews.
- Gather relevant information from various sources.
- Provide mission information and briefing prior to aircraft launch.
- Conduct pre-use inspections of Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs).
- Support with grounds and facility maintenance.
- Working knowledge of basic aviation safety.
- Preference for candidates with NWCG Single Engine Airtanker Manager (SEMG) qualification.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate outcomes, and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent goal-setting, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
