    Description

    CLINICIAN

    YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES

    FULL TIME - EXEMPT

    General Summary: Provide assessment evaluations, outpatient short-term psychotherapy and linkage with community service agencies.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Provide initial assessment and intake evaluation in client's home.
    • Provide individual, couples, family or group counseling within the scope of one's competencies.
    • Provide crisis intervention.
    • Develop and implement recovery plans and document services consistent with Thrive standards and/or insurance requirements.
    • Collaborate with other providers, agencies, insurance companies and individuals in the client's network of care.
    • Provide relapse prevention, discharge planning, follow-up and aftercare.
    • Provide education, training, and modeling in basic daily living skills, social or parenting skills.
    • Teach clients effective techniques for managing their medication as prescribed.
    • Coordinate community resources, transportation for client, and referrals to appropriate resources including services within Thrive.
    • Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
    • Produce, complete, and maintain billing forms, logs, data collection forms, clinical documentation and client records in accordance with Thrive standards and state and federal regulations.
    • Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage at all time.
    • Accompany clients to community appointment, provides advocacy as needed.
    • Schedule and maintain client hours sufficient to achieve individual / program billing targets

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
    • Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.
    • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

    • Present a neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position, department and agency policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience and Competencies:

    • Master's Degree in the human service field of social work or counseling preferred.
    • Minimum (2) year experience working with clients with disabilities preferred.
    • Experience or training in related state and federal assistance programs also preferred.
    • Basic computer literacy skills are necessary.

    Certifications, Licenses Requirements:

    • Licensed at an independent level (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) preferred.
    • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards law, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the job responsibilities/tasks is necessary for community based positions.
