    This position is responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding a portfolio of commercial clients in an assigned market with primary emphasis on growing client relationships and sales of First American Bank (FAB) products. Upon successful onboarding of new business relationships, the Senior Commercial Loan Relationship Manager will be responsible for all aspects of credit management, including measuring risk through regular financial analysis, meetings to assess financial condition, as well as retention and sales. A thorough understanding of all aspects of the loan transaction is expected including the ability to make decisions on credit approval, loan pricing, collateral decisions, and structure. The Senior Commercial Loan Relationship Manager will be given a defined authority for loan approval and shall have the authority to deny any loan.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    SALES:

    • Identify and generate new Commercial Banking, Private, and Wealth Management client relationships through sales calls, referrals and networking.
    • Maintain and expand relationships with professional firms in the regional market, including: Accountants, Lawyers, Private Equity, and Investment Banking Sponsors to introduce and sell FAB products and services.

    PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT:

    • Support a portfolio, as assigned, to retain and expand the client relationships through regular contact and responsive service.

    OTHER:

    • Collaborate and build relationships with other lines of business to increase market share of all First American Bank products and services.
    • Works closely with Relationship Managers and Associates, as requested, to insure their satisfactory performance and career progression.
    • Conduct and complete additional assignments/projects as designated by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree, finance, or accounting preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Ten years in the Commercial Loan Department.
    • Must be professional, comfortable speaking with external and internal contacts with a demonstrated ability to tailor the message appropriately to the audience and situation effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to convey thoughts and ideas effectively and succinctly via written formats, including emails, letters, and electronic platforms. Maintain professional standards relating to spelling and grammar.
    • Maintain credibility through professional demeanor, appearance, and presence by modeling standards appropriate to our environment and industry.
    • Maintain good working relationships with internal partners by exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills, adopting a constructive, solutions-focused approach.
    • Use sound professional judgment to balance the interests of the organization and customer, understanding and using available resources to mitigate risks.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products and applications, including the ability to effectively prepare or review documents, procedures, and reports.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications, as well as the ability to understand, adapt and adjust responsibilities/workflows as a result of system upgrades.
    • This position requires regular travel to corporate facilities and Bank locations throughout the Chicagoland and/or Wisconsin branch network.
    • Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
    • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required depending upon business need.
    • Punctuality is required to maintain First American Banks customer service standards.
