    Summary:


    King School is seeking an experienced human resource professional to ensure that our human resource programs and initiatives are effective and aligned with the School's mission.

    The Human Resources Manager will be a hands-on administrator and assist the director to improve human resource processes, implement strategies that support best practices, support effective hiring and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, and serve as an effective representative of the School.


    This role requires a detailed level understanding of HRIS, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, policy creation and administration, employee recruiting, orientation, training, onboarding and off-boarding, and compliance.

    The Human Resources Office is comprised of two professional positions, including the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Manager.

    The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources.


    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Knowledge of selection, training, recruiting, and supervision of personnel.
    • Knowledge of employment law, wage and salary practices, and performance review programs.
    • Knowledge of practices and techniques as they relate to position management, staff development and training, human resources
    policy development and administration, and employee relations.


    General Responsibilities:

    • Provide investigative support in the absence of the Director when necessary, including, but not limited to, the coordination of
    investigations for allegations of employee misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower complaints.

    • Assists the Director of Human Resources to manage and record training and performance evaluation programs.
    • Serves as backup in processing of the School's biweekly payroll and the documentation and processing of additional
    compensation requests.

    • Continue the ongoing transition to utilize and operationalize our payroll system as an HRIS and applicant tracking system when
    appropriate and assist the Director with analyzing other payroll and benefits enhancement or transition opportunities.

    • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies.
    • Compile and maintain all reports, records, and other required documents.
    • Support the hiring and recruitment process, including the onboarding and offboarding of faculty and staff. Initiates, maintains and
    implements fingerprinting records.

    • Support the Director to monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations such as FMLA, ADA, Sexual
    Harassment, OSHA, Worker's Compensation, and ERISA.

    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, and employment law.
    • Assist the Director in administering benefit plans for more than 180 eligible employees: including medical, dental, vision, life and
    disability insurance, healthcare savings accounts and flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and workers compensation.

    • Maintains driver's list and coordinates mandatory drug testing.
    • Works collaboratively with various benefits audits throughout the year.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Core Qualifications and Credentials:

    • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
    • Advanced certification in Human Resources preferred.
    • A minimum of five years of experience in human resource management, preferably within an educational or nonprofit setting.
