    Unit: Cardiac Universal Bed 3N- Telemetry Observation Unit

    Shift: PT Days: 2/12's 7a-7p (Workdays TBA)

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for a variety of clerical and patient care tasks within the department, under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    • Collecting and recording patient data, updating nursing team on observations promptly. Taking vital signs, measurements, performing glucose monitoring, and assisting with urinary catheter care.
    • Assisting patients with daily activities, answering calls, and may be assigned as a sitter for certain cases.
    • Maintaining patient and unit records, as well as assisting with administrative tasks. Keeping work area organized and following department guidelines.
    • Handling various administrative tasks such as preparing reports, purchase orders, and corresponding via computer programs.
    • Interacting with visitors, answering phones, and communicating with the medical staff. Ensuring timely responses to patient calls.
    • Completing errands, restocking supplies, and assisting in non-medical patient care activities.
    • Attending meetings, in-services, and conferences within the unit.

    • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Professional and positive attitude when dealing with patients, families, and colleagues.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • EDUCATION - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
    • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year
    • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
      • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
