- Utilizes the ability to perform EKG tracing and correctly place telemetry monitor leads on patients.

Description
The Acute Care Technician assists the professional nursing staff by performing specific functions related to patient care in the Emergency Department. The Acute Care Tech works under the direct supervision of the RN and is accountable to the Patient Care Coordinator and Nurse Director. They will utilize an appropriate knowledge base and skill set to communicate and interact with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.Performance Expectations:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must complete education/training on EKG, lab site session, patient transport, Suicide precautions, 1:1 monitoring, restraint use, and de-escalation and peaceful interventions education/training required annually.
Work Experience:
Related work experience preferred.
