    The Marketing & Communications Manager serves as a key component of the Communications team at Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) to advance the organization's brand and increase community knowledge and engagement. The Marketing & Communications Manager will build and maintain the branding, communications and collateral design needs for Ronald McDonald House New York including special projects and events. This position reports to the Director of Volunteers & Communications.

    The salary range for this role will be 95K - 110K. This will be a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.

    Role/Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    Digital Marketing

    • Build digital strategy, audience, content and activation plans across channels, with an emphasis on social media, to drive awareness, raise funds and increase engagement
    • Create and develop awareness campaigns and materials to elevate our brand and raise awareness to build a platform that allows fundraising and communications effort
    • Implement best practices to develop compelling content across owned channels (social, email, web); define and complete reports on key metrics
    • Serve as an inter-departmental liaison to provide communication and marketing support and to identify or create opportunities to promote the organization to internal and external audiences
    • Analyze and implement digital trends across the nonprofit industry to adapt strategy and techniques to be incorporated in all Marketing efforts
    • Edit videos and virtual content to publish on website and social media channels such as YouTube
    • Create and manage content for Ronald McDonald House New York's website, social media channels and email communications while coordinating with the Development and Digital team to amplify fundraising and outreach efforts

    Brand Management

    • Manage all internal and external collateral and communications to ensure all materials comply with brand and design standards set by Ronald McDonald House Charities
    • Actively audit marketing and communications materials across departments and promotional inventory, and determine swag and collateral needs
    • Manage and approve all marketing material requests and drafted materials to ensure aligned and on brand approach for all efforts
    • Create content calendar for digital and marketing plan for each year
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Policies to ensure that all Marketing & Communications projects and needs are met across departments
    • Empower staff, volunteers and major stakeholders with knowledge, tools and resources they need to be the best brand ambassadors and advocates for our mission


    Graphic Design

    • Contribute to overall look of all collateral and publication – development, Board communications, recruitment outreach, family communications, annual reports, appeals, newsletters and other outward facing materials
    • Manage the scope and execution of projects to meet organizational goals and ensure communications are effective and aligned with branding guidelines

    Public Relations/Media

    • Serve as a point-person for the media, and coordinate and seek media interest and collaborative media efforts with major brands and partners
    • Story-mine and support Public Relations to build Ronald McDonald House New York's profile and platform
    • Assist with vendor management and relations i.e. Marino and Weber Shandwick
    • Board & Office of President Communications
    • Develop and support Board communications and resources needed for Board relationships and management
    • Curate new messaging and touchpoints to enhance Board Communications and relationships
    • Develop and Co-manage ongoing communications including RMH-NY's Board Book and Board Portal in support of the Office of the President

    Internal Communications

    • Serve as a liaison across departments to ensure staff and major stakeholders are up-to-date on major happenings across the organization

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and leveraging partnerships and relationships with key vendors and consultants including Direct Mail Company, Website Developer, Public Relations Firm and Writing Consultants
    • Prepare and monitor budgets and reports for outreach and marketing
    • Provide communications, grammar and marketing knowledge to other RMH-NY departments as appropriate
    • Serve as a member of various cross-functional teams or committees to aid in streamlining and standardizing communications internally and externally
    • Provide direct support on the execution of key activities including administrative responsibilities, fundraising activities and programming
    • Continuously track, measure, evaluate and report on the achievement of communication goals with a focus on recommending and incorporating improvements as appropriate
    • Serve as a resource for families, guests, staff, volunteers, donors and other community members
    • Be attentive and observant of all parts of the facility and operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff and guests; report violations or concerns in a timely fashion

    Qualifications & Competencies

    • Bachelors' degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, Communications or a related field and minimum 5 years related work experience required. Advanced degree preferred
    • Must have growth mindset, highly collaborative communication, supervision experience, and strong interpersonal skills
    • Must have a strong understanding and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro)
    • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to details and design aesthetic
    • Ability to collaborate and participate as a flexible, responsive team member and able to work independently, make decisions, and adhere to priorities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
    • Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative skills, including managing multiple deadlines and event planning
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively listen, evaluate and react to key members, stakeholders, providers and internal/external clients
    • Positive and respectful interpersonal skills; ability to remain professional yet compassionate when interacting with families in crisis. Committed and open to working with diverse communities
    • Hospitable demeanor when interacting with guests, donors, volunteers and community at-large
    • Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays for events

    • The office for this job is located in the same facility where RMH-NY provides temporary accommodations to pediatric patients and their families while the patients are undergoing active medical treatment at area hospitals. For some RMH-NY guests, medical treatment may include radiation therapy. While radiation therapy is never administered at RMH-NY, there is the potential for some radioactive material to be present in guests who have undergone radiation therapy. Based on radiation measurements performed throughout RMH-NY, it is not expected that individuals working at RMH-NY will receive radiation doses that would exceed the general public limit (100 millirem per year).
    • The office for this job is located in the same facility where families have temporary residence. The building is open and must be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some holidays, weekends, evening hours may be necessary for this job.
    • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Noise levels often increase with families and children who have temporary residence in the building as well as guests and musical performers for special events.
    • This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
