    Recovery Associate at Sober Living


    JOB DESCRIPTION
    This position is responsible for all guidelines and program rules from entry to exiting programming. The recovery associate oversees and performs the daily operations of the sober living home located in Sioux City, IA. This position requires a passion for helping others recover from substance use disorders/mental health issues and homelessness.

    The position is a full-time, (1 full-time or 2 part-time), that works directly with those in early recovery, providing structure and support to establish stable long-term recovery from substance use disorders and mental health disorders.


    This includes duties:
    Enforce rules in a reasonable, respectful manner remaining helpful under all circumstances.
    Role model and nurture a healthy living environment.
    Facilitate and teach positive conflict resolution skills.
    Track referrals, guest entries, and exits, and measure data outcomes.
    Make timely decisions and work independently with changing responsibilities or priorities.
    Demonstrate ability to balance multiple priorities and personalities.

    Assist guests in scheduling appointments, connect guests to community resources, job searches, plan volunteer activities, and transport guests to activities.

    Schedule and ensure completion of household chores on a regular rotation, enforce cleaning guidelines, conduct regular inspections of chore completion and facility.

    Schedule maintenance and repairs as required.
    Maintain safety, accountability, and security of the environment and guests, ensure completion of random drug testing.

    Teach, coach, and supervise individuals in activities of daily living including morning, bedtime, and overnight procedures, hygiene and cleanliness, housekeeping, meals, volunteering, job applications, academics, and extracurricular activities both on and off campus.

    Observe the peer culture for patterns of behavior indicating progress or regression in the program.
    Provide Sober Living Director with insight and observations of guests' growth and struggles.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    High School Diploma or GED

    Must understand the disease of addiction and have 2 or more years of knowledge of substance use disorders and the recovery community.

    Willingness to obtain additional education including; Peer Supporter Training, Basic First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and drug testing procedures.

    Requires maintaining a visible presence in the sober living home.
    Must have basic home maintenance/repair skills.
    Basic computer and keyboarding skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)
    Knowledge of community resources.
