    Job Summary:

    The Human Resources Administrator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Tendercare's human resources department.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assists with all human resources processes and tasks including but not limited to recruiting, new employee onboarding, compliance tracking, HR administration, benefits administration, training and development activities, documentation, and filing. Provides administrative support to the HR Manager and Nurse Recruiter as required.
    • Tracks and maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel and medical files, employment records, licensing/certification, and other compliance documentation, and benefits eligibility.
    • Updates HR system with new personnel, medical and compliance information, benefits eligibility dates, etc. Scans and uploads necessary documentation into the HR system.
    • Follows up with individual employees to notify them of impending employment and benefits eligibility status changes, expirations of critical compliance documentation and necessary follow-up actions, reviews of applicable HR policies, etc.
    • Provides administrative support to Director of Nursing and HR Manager with respect to employee disciplinary processes (probation, suspensions, warnings, terminations, etc.)
    • Provides administrative support for the processing of unemployment claims, workers compensation claims/reporting, Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and personal leave requests from employees.
    • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
    • Coordinates with and responds to other departments requests regarding employee scheduling, employment, and benefits status changes, payroll-related matters, financial
    • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality with respect to human resource files, records, and information. Must strictly adhere to the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements regarding privacy and security of health information of employees and clients of Tendercare.
    • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records for new hires and existing employees to ensure that all required documents are collected, updated, and filed appropriately.
    • Conducts or assists with new hire interviews and orientations as required.
    • Acts as a liaison between Tendercare and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, accident, and other plan providers.
    • Receives, sorts and distributes daily mail and packages delivered to the office.
    • Monitors the reception area and receives visitors to the Tendercare office.
    • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn benefits administration processes, human resource processes and information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate degree (or higher) in related field required.
    • Prior related office experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
