We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Showroom Trade Representative to join our Logan Circle Showroom. In this position you will be working directly with a diverse clientele, ranging from homeowners to designers & architects to contractors and installers, offering each personalized service and expert advice. This is a role in which relationships and passion will be key indicators for success. The Showroom Trade Representative would be responsible for client engagement inside and outside of the showroom and would entail a split schedule on-site and out in the field each week. TileBar offers a competitive compensation package that includes a strong base salary and performance based incentives.
Responsibilities
To thrive in this role, you will be expected to successfully perform the following duties:
Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, offering expert advice, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction with a seamless experience.
Brand Awareness: Develop and drive prospective trade clients towards the showroom showcasing an all-inclusive experience that we bring to every client and project. Engage with the residential trade community by being a resource for knowledge, creating connections, and networking opportunities. You will be a consistent and positive representation of TileBar's brand image and culture in all interactions by upholding our values, vision, and commitment to exceptional customer service.
Design & Consultation: Curate materials and recommend the ideal products for a wide range of residential and commercial applications. Create custom room packages and design boards that reflect the needs and desires of our clients. These consultations are expected to occur both in the showroom and out in the field.
Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of TileBar's product offerings, brand values, and industry trends, and share this knowledge with clients to provide the best solutions. You will be a resource for trade professionals in all things tile and TileBar; be the subject matter expert needed for technical needs and product knowledge.
Sales & Order Management: Handle the entire sales process, from quoting and order fulfillment to processing purchase orders and sample requests. Ensure all sales activities are logged and tracked within our CRM system.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with local teams to ensure all brand standards are met. Foster partnerships across the organization and vendors to ensure timely and efficient order processing and delivery. This may include additional duties as requested.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain long-lasting client relationships, helping to foster loyalty and repeat business. Set the table for others to cultivate relationships by introducing the brand and team to trade clients in the surrounding area.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in retail, showroom, or luxury sales environments.
- Experience in tile, natural stone, textiles, furniture, building materials, or supply chain industries is a plus.
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs through consultative selling techniques.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-first mindset to drive satisfaction and repeat business.
- Ability to educate and guide clients through product selection, project planning, and design solutions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage with customers, colleagues, and industry professionals.
Product Knowledge & Industry Expertise
- Knowledge of tile, stone, and flooring materials, including product applications and industry trends, is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on product specifications, installation methods, and design trends.
- Ability to effectively present and recommend products tailored to client needs.
Operational & Technical Proficiency
- Tech-savvy, with frequent use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with SalesPad, Magento, Salesforce, or similar CRM systems is a plus.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills for order processing, quoting, and pricing.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
Time Management & Team Collaboration
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced showroom environment and out in the field.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for sample movement and showroom maintenance.
- Travel is required for client meetings within the market, company events, training, and showroom openings.
