    Description

    Design and integrate systems and applications into microcontroller components into a complete product for the electronic communications industry. In connection with such duties, the Beneficiary will design and develop solutions to systems and network concerns in the context of NXP's microcontrollers; develop systems tools, including tools that bridge operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, and utilities for embedded modules; determine electronics compatibility and/or influence electronics product design; contribute to architectural firmware and/or middleware design discussion for new generation chipsets; design, prototype, test, and validate microcontroller products, simulations, and communication systems; design circuit systems, build and evaluate prototypes, perform electronics engineering experiments, generate engineering documentation, and enter schematics; prepare application notes and technical materials, including design documentation, specifications, procedures, experimental results, design options, and tradeoffs; apply electronics engineering principles towards breakdown and analysis of system modules; apply familiarity and use of radio frequency concepts and logic analyzers; collect chip feature requirements and design, implement, and integrate firmware and/or middleware modules from system architecture and functional specifications; optimize firmware and/or middleware performance for limited resource usage, low power consumption, and security constraints; develop creative electronics and security engineering ideas as countermeasures for security threats and attacks; and apply expertise in embedded electronic systems development within multi-bit MCU architectures, verification methodologies, lab environments, electronics peripheral blocks, and related standards. 15% domestic and international (UK, Europe, Asia) travel required.

    Qualifications:

    Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, foreign equivalent, or related field.

    Two (2) years of experience in the job offered, Intern, Research Assistant or similar occupations.

    Required skills:

    Position requires two (2) years of experience in:

    • Embedded Software Development;
    • Hardware in the Loop Testing;
    • C/C++ Programming language;
    • MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE RCP/HIL;
    • Verification and validation; and
    SIL/HIL simulations and automated fault insertion testing
