Job DescriptionThe Per Diem Surgical Technician has knowledge and expertise in operating room technology, and is responsible for assisting in the performance of routine and delegated functions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.

Performs scrub and sterile instrument duties per established guidelines.


ResponsibilitiesRole & Responsibilities:

Assists in the care of patients in the Operating Room and related areas under the direct supervision of the professional nurseAssists in the care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and un-sterile equipmentDemonstrates ability to apply principles of sterile techniqueAssists circulating nurseAssists in the safe transfer and positioning of patients according to accepted procedure QualificationsRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent.

Graduation from an accredited CST Training Program.
Certification with National Board Surgical Technology & Surgical AssistingBLS certification required (American Heart Association)
