Technical Buyer/Sourcing Specialist

**Description**

**Summary:**

The Technical Buyer/Sourcing Specialist ensures incoming, materials, products, and services are secured at competitive cost, at required quality, and at competitive delivery levels consistent with company objectives and engineering performance requirements. The Technical Buyer/Sourcing Specialist will in turn interface with many internal departments across the organization in the procurement of goods and services and manage supplier relationships.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** **(Other duties will be assigned as required)**

Lead development and execution of all sourcing-related functions: performing due-diligence and assessment of prospective suppliers, RFQ, supplier selection, and implementation

Research technical data, strategize, compare, and evaluate offers from suppliers

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and all relevant financial contract agreements

Prepare reports and analyses on purchasing cost trends, highlighting opportunities to leverage purchasing activities that yield cost savings

Develop and manage local contracts and agreements for purchased goods/services. Identify and implement cost saving initiatives

Develop additional supply sources as needs arise or opportunities present themselves

Market research, qualification and on-boarding of new suppliers

Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and service providers

Assist in development of strategic supplier relationships

Measure supplier performance against key business objectives. Participate in formal supplier business review process, including but not limited to supplier evaluation, supplier audits and other related activities

Assess supplier capabilities, perform cost benefit analysis, issue resolution, risk mitigation and contingency planning

Develop and implement procurement strategies and standardize policies based on best practices

Work with other functional areas to streamline and improve process

Assist in developing a comprehensive annual sourcing plan for commodity services including strategy, cost savings and risk mitigation

Liaison between suppliers, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Purchasing as necessary to support cost containment and cost reduction initiatives

**Education and Experience Requirements:**

Bachelor Degree required. Engineering, Business, Supply chain or Operations Management Degree preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, demand planning, strategic sourcing, procurement or Supply chain management in a manufacturing environment

Proven expertise in Excel

Six Sigma Certified is a plus

APICs certified is a plus

Procurement related ERP system (such as SAP) experience will be a strong plus

Experience reviewing standard terms and conditions for contracts/licensing agreements
